Shopify just announced their new Return APIs (beta). Find out what this means for you as a brand, and how it supports Loop's mission.

We’ve been covering Shopify’s Editions Summer 2022 announcement, and today, we get to talk about their new Return APIs (beta). Oh, and Will Youmans, Loop engineering manager, has been supporting this initiative from our end for the last several weeks – kudos and thank you, Will!

This capability will improve the returns experience with better data continuity, and will enable:

  • Increased visibility and control
  • Streamlined returns
  • Data-driven decisions
  • Improved buyer experience

So, how does this product news impact Loop and existing Loop merchants?

Better returns visibility for Loop merchants

Loop is exclusively built for Shopify, but historically we’ve had to “build around the edges” to facilitate a seamless experience for our merchants and their customers. We will now get to offer the same best-in-class returns experience for brands, while providing better visibility into returns processed through Loop right within the Shopify admin dashboard.

“This is the foundation that will unlock the optimal returns experience for all Shopify Merchants and their customers,” says Aaron Schwartz, Loop’s president. “More importantly, the Returns API provides the platform where all vendors can integrate, resulting in more robust data that encompasses the full customer journey.”

By integrating Loop into Shopify’s admin dashboard, you’ll get access to critical action and data to include data syncing, notifications, shipping labels, refunds, new webhooks, and item inspection – new capabilities which will flow seamlessly within one central ecosystem.

Over the last seven years, we’ve built Loop exclusively for Shopify brands. Today, we support over 1,500 Shopify and Shopify Plus brands by automating their returns process and helping them retain revenue through exchanges.

One of our core values is Make Merchants Successful, and partnering with Shopify on this initiative feature is another opportunity to continue delivering on that promise. We are honored to have been chosen as a preferred partner on this project, and look forward to driving value together for our shared customers.
