Take an inside look at the data ↓

return

Among all of the verticals analyzed, swimwear has the highest return rate of 21.6%. Often, shoppers want to test out a few different swimsuits before committing to a single purchase, or they might purchase an item but not be happy once they see how it looks on them.

upsell

Jewelry has one of the highest upsell values per return, sitting at $3.36. You can use Loop’s Different Priced Exchanges feature to allow a seamless upsell experience, incentivizing the customer to choose a variant rather than seek a refund.

handling fee

Home Goods is the vertical with the highest handling fees, topping off at 17%. Larger home furnishings can be unwieldy to return if they don’t work out—so it’s important to have a clear-cut return policy that outlines reasons for return and associated return shipping fees.
